Buy daylilies grown in Lexington MA; located in the greater Boston area.

We love to grow daylilies. All of our daylilies came from Bob Seawright Daylily Farm in Carlisle, MA. We have a collection that started 25 years ago. Lots of varieties to see. Some are potted, most are dug bare root. The daylilies flower at different times of the year so we almost always have something flowering starting in early June. The daylilies that we show are prolific and durable; The daylily flowers are large and beautiful and easily tolerate our Northeast climate. We sell all these garden perennial favorites and more!

Stella De Oro are the first lilies of spring. They are known to rebloom if they got lots of sun. Our other lilies are just big, beautiful, and prolific. Other favorites include daisy like flowers called rudbeckia. We have them as both annual and perennial varieties. We love coneflowers. They are strong tall and durable flowers in pink or white. Many of these plants will proliferate from seed as well as from root runners. We also offer Rose of Sharon. They are fast growing and tend to flower midsummer.

Some facts about daylilies…

When you receive your daylilies, unpack the box immediately and place the daylilies in a container with their roots in water and put in the shade. Let them stand in the water for at least 1 hour. They are then ready to plant. They can be kept in a cool place and in the water and in the shade for up to 5 days before planting.

Daylilies can be planted when the frost is out of the ground.

Daylilies like at least 6 hours of direct sun. Daylilies prefer a well-drained location. They will grow in a wide range of soils, from sand to heavy clay, and in a wide range of soil pH’s. Add some peat moss or sterilized manure and mix into the soil. A 1/2 recommended strength garden fertilizer, 10- 10-10, is also helpful.

Dig the hole large enough to accommodate the roots of the daylily fully spread. Cover the roots with soil to a point about one inch above the upper most root. You will see a transition from white to green on the fan. Do not plant to a depth of more than 1/2″ of the green part covered. Keep soil moist, but not wet. As plant matures it will need less maintenance.

Depending on the time of year, we may ship the plant before. during or after it has a scape (flower stalk).

It is common for the tips of the leaves to go to yellow and brown as the plant tries to strengthen itself after its trip.

Daylilies are shipped with the roots washed (no soil) and bagged.
